Baked By The River: A New Era in New Jersey Cannabis Dispensaries
We’re happy to announce the launch of Baked By The River, Lambertville, New Jersey’s first Woman and Equity applicant-owned recreational dispensary. At the helm are local residents, Jesse Marie and Cord Schlobohm, both dedicated educators and cannabis activists who have realized their dream in a historic firehouse at the heart of Lambertville. For over a decade, Jesse Marie, herself a medical cannabis patient, baked edibles to serve other patients in her community with her dream to one day open her own.

And moving forward into 2024, we’re excited to be opening Plant Base dispensary in Plain Field, New Jersey. Plant Base is the brainchild of lifelong friends Kevon Carter, Prince Abidoye, and Alishea Kelly. Prince and Alishea met playing basketball at CSU Stanislaus State, while Prince and Kevon crossed paths in the NYC basketball world when they were just 16. They have a vision that extends beyond a simple dispensary - they're creating a space where quality cannabis promotes wellness and community harmony.
We were lucky enough to meet them all at MJBiz Con 2023 and have been excited ever since. With Art Byrd, a CFO with 30 years of experience in finance, and Yves Thony, a CTO with 20 years of experience in tech and buildout, they have a well-rounded team ready to change the game. Even before opening their doors, they've already started making a difference. This past November, they held a free legal expungement clinic for locals in the Plain Field area.
